a place called vertigo
hello hello:
i cannot get this great new u2 song out of my head. ..the ipod commercial (the first song they've ever used for an ad) is stunning as far as ads go too. i think i do a pretty mean bono impression but my wife may disagree!
speaking of u2 and bono, check out the recent books and culture which has bono on the front with bush and kerry in the background and quite a good article too. (all kudos to tomdartt for the recent gift b&c subscription). see www.rufville.org for more details about this cool dude and his vital ministry at millersville university.
my stint teaching is done for now. my class went well on the psalms, i think. i'll look forward to seeing people's comments about the class and how it could improve.
now the main things i'm involved in are helping lead the men's ministry. we're trekking through the entire bible in about 9 months. i'm using the message which makes the terrain a little more easy. as a co-home group leader with maestro (mussolini) matt monticchio (how's that for alliteration?), i'm studying ecclesiastes and am looking forward to diving in with the group. i found a really cool looking book by robert johnston of fuller seminary. he ponders ecclesiastes vis a vis modern film-looks pretty interesting. of course, for anyone who is interested in this very wise book that still has so much relevance, i commend stafford wright's landmark essay, the interpretation of ecclesiastes found in several anthologies in good theological libraries.
well, i think my break is about done. i may be one of the only ones reading my blog for now but it's giving me good blogging practice. peace out!
